About the Book
FLUX Vol.I is a visual notebook built from photographs taken in Samper de Calanda (Spain) during several days of coexistence, ritual, and everyday life surrounding Holy Week.
Far from functioning as a traditional documentary report, the book works as a fragmented visual diary where:
processions
drums
landscapes
family gestures
religious symbols
shadows
architecture
silence
small everyday moments
all coexist within the same emotional territory.
All photographs were made in black and white following a spontaneous approach closely related to snapshot photography and visual memory.
Rather than explaining a tradition, the book attempts to convey the emotional experience of inhabiting a place and observing how ritual, family, and landscape become part of a shared memory.
More than a traditional photobook the book functions as:
an observation notebook
an emotional archive
a visual diary
an exploration of memory and territory
A small, direct, and personal book.
Like meaningful memories themselves:
fragmented, imperfect, and alive.
