Barbara Laughlin Adler has researched her family history for the past 25 years, and holds membership in several genealogical societies. She is Professor Emerita at Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she taught Public Address, Media History, Family Communication, and Oral Reading of Scripture for 35 years. She currently volunteers as archivist for the Michigan District of the Lutheran Church, and conducts lay reader workshops, based on her book "The Sound of Scripture: Reading the Bible Aloud." She loves to travel, read, write and take long walks with her husband of 40 years.
