Judy Takacs

Solon, Ohio

Saving the world, one painting at a time, Takács is best known for the painterly realism of her oil portraits and the message of female empowerment of her traveling portrait series, Chicks with Balls: Judy Takács paints unsung female heroes. Early in 2020, Chicks with Balls opened as Takács’ first solo museum show at the Zanesville Museum of Art. Her Goddess Project, which has enjoyed solo shows at Chagrin Arts and, most recently, at the Ashtabula Arts Center, re-imagines the mythological characters from all religions via a feminist lens. With the recent loss of reproductive rights in Ohio and the nation, Takács has created a series of Pro Choice paintings, which have shown all over Ohio to augment her feminist activism. A selection of these works will show at Chagrin Arts in Chagrin Falls, Ohio through the November 7th Election Day 2023 as part of her solo show, Mothers, Women, Children, Choices.

A winner of fifteen Best in Show awards since 2011, her figurative work has been exhibit
