James Clare is a proud transgender man and member of the LGBTQIA+ community. He has a history of involvement in both social and environmental equity efforts across British Columbia, and in the colorful places where those two worlds collide, he managed to find a sense of purpose.

Born and raised on B.C.’s west coast, he currently resides on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Stó:lō Coast Salish peoples. Clare plans to continue his work with the hope of inspiring readers and community members to explore their sense of self, belonging, and truth.
