I started cooking because my mother detested it and I was hungry. So at age 12, I checked out Julia Child's "Mastering The Art of French Cooking" from the school library and read it. Basically, I could make a Bearnaise sauce before scrambling eggs. I love reading, cooking and France so this gateway led to cooking as an artform and expression of love for me.
