About

Me and my friends like to play Minecraft sometimes however, it is more often to be in the middle of nowhere, without internet. The most interesting thing is usually the setting and not the actual game.

We typically begin by sharing the most recent Minecraft binaries and creating an ad-hoc WiFi network. Then someone boots a server and we're done... But not!

Minecraft often does DRM and verification on the Minecraft site. This can be disabled for the server by setting online-mode false in server.properties. However, the client will not allow this to be done.

In the beginning, the solution consisted of sending a smartphone user out to find an open WiFi network. It was possible to fake the login server before the launcher. Recently, I came across a way to play in offline mode on the client, too.

Spoiler alert: Minecraft is The Matrix. https://minecraft-servers.site/

That's it. It was clear.
