About the Book
Marcus was born in El Paso, Texas 1951. He has been a professional artist for over thirty years.
This book captures a glimpse into Marcus’ prolific career as a studio painter. There are 86 paintings in this book never before published and never before seen in print form. At the time of this 1st edition printing (May of 2008) 60 of these works were already sold. Frequently in the past, works by Marcus have been bought quickly before there was time to document and photograph them.
These recent paintings were created within a 13 month window of time. Within these pages you will explore variations of a theme such as monjas coronadas (crowned nuns), exotic dancers and figurative portraits flowing from the artist’s imagination. You will experience women carrying flowers and fruit, dressed in costumes in a dream like setting.
This is a fun artbook and a “trip” for your eyes to take in. Enjoy.
