About the Book
A few years ago I was walking through the car show at the Pittsburgh Grand Prix and was struck by the beautiful details of many of the old cars on display. I thought that many of the parts of these cars constituted works of art in themselves. Photographing these parts in isolation - out of context, as it were - emphasized their artistic aspects. I took hundreds of photos that day and continued to keep an eye open for creative "Auto Parts" to photograph. The result is this book, an exploration of auto "parts" as art. examining its parts as works of design.
