    About the Book

    Edit

The Other Side of Sibu showcases the work of 8 photographers who were on a PhotoSafari to Cebu and the island of Malapascua in the Philippines. Malapascua Island is a world renowned diving paradise with a National Geographic certified Diving centre. Its the place to dive if you want to see the rare Thresher Sharks and Devil Manta Rays. Many of the photos have captions and descriptions of not only the places being shot, but also commentaries by the editors of the book, Yusuf Hashim and Maxby Chan, on the photography techniques being used. Yusuf Hashim and Maxby Chan run www.photosafari.com.my which regularly conduct teaching photosafaris to exotic destinations like Cebu, the Old Silk Road, Angkor Wat, Vietnam, Bangladesh, the Himalayas, Nepal, China, etc. Hop over to their website at www.photosafari.com.my if you wish to participate on any of their photosafaris. A coffee table book like this is produced after each photosafari, showcasing the work of participants. Yusuf and Maxby are also administrators of www.photomalaysia.com which is Malaysia's largest and oldest online photography community, which has a membership of more than 80,000 amateur and professional photographers, who share their work online, and participate in many photography related activities such as exhibitions, photo critiques, workshops and photosafaris organized by www.photosafari.com.my
