About the Book
On 26th May 2011, Kevin Garfoot set off with his brother Barry to cycle over 1,000 miles between the two most distant inhabited places on the British Mainland: Land’s End and John o’ Groats.
Unsupported and carrying all that they needed for the journey except beds, they slowly threaded their way through the buxom countryside of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset fuelled by bananas and malt loaf before heading north with optimism and wind.
Intoxicated by the freedom of the countryside, Kevin had soon stripped in public, been massaged by a young lady, stalked by a mature woman, mistaken a waitress for a singing star and had a skinny blonde.
To preserve his memories of the journey and in a tribute to the humble bicycle, Kevin recounts their days on the road.
