About the Book
Born between the World Wars, and a child of the Great Depression, this is the story of one man's journey. Born in the small country town of Eumundi, South-East Qld, and now 88 years old, he shares his memories across the years, from his larrikan childhood, his WW2 service, his lifetime career in the sawmilling industry, and the loves and losses of his colourful life. Written by his daughter, his story reflects the changing world of the twentieth century, from horse and cart to the technological explosion we enjoy today, and the life of one man who has lived by courage, duty and honour. A man who has always followed the beat of his own drum.
