About the Book
I have been practicing photography for over twenty-five years. And for me, photography’s lure has always been its capacity to harness the infinite and transform the mundane.
In 2010, I concluded a twelve-year Manhattan residency and left New York City. Since then I have been following my family’s migratory path set four generations ago traversing Maine to Florida. Although I have been visiting Sarasota, Florida since childhood, time constraints prevented me from photographing it. But, that has since changed, and in 2011 I initiated my current photography project, Sarasota: Master Plan. The resulting images were all made within a two-mile walking radius of my home in which I explored Sarasota’s architecture and urban identity.
