    About the Book

    Edit

INTO THE LIGHT, Faces of Peru is a tour of an Andean world as seen through the eyes of photographer David Fleurant. In 168 pages the author shares some of his experiences in 9 chapters and 145 captioned photographs covering more than 20 years of travel throughout Peru. Enjoy first hand commentary on the aesthetic and technical challenges of making photographs in this exotic location as well as what the transition from film to digital imaging has done to the picture making process.

INTO THE LIGHT, takes you on a journey to a country that has undergone tremendous social and economic change from the early days of the 1990’s when groups like "Shining Path" and "Tupac Amaru" threatened to bring down the country, to its’ resurgence today as one of the brightest jewels in South America. From the desert coast of the Pacific to the High Andes, look into the "Faces of Peru" and see the strength and resilience of a people made strong by invading explorers and the blood of the Inca, and shaped by a landscape like no other on Earth.

Feel the emotion of a nation that in little more that 150 miles can take you from the dries desert on the planet to some of the highest mountains on Earth, and in a heart beat bring you to the head waters of the Amazon.
