About the Book
AGATHA WARNELL saved the sobs for only the darkness to hear. She sat motionless in the cherry rocking chair, eyes focused on her delicate hands folded in her lap. She felt as numb as she did foolish.
She scolded herself for having allowed the loneliness to govern her actions, to create a false and fantastic hope that Doctor Mason Grey could be hers after only a few heated moments when he had been Jennifer's for years.
DOCTOR MASON GREY hesitated briefly in front of the stone fireplace. The crackling fire was ablaze with anticipation of his hand held offering. The dancing flames hypnotized him, as if calling out for him to release his sacrifice to its burning red glow. His first thought was to rip open the paper covered portrait that he had considered to be his doubt, for one final look. He opted to look away instead. After all, he no longer needed it, its image could taunt him no longer.

About the Creator
Marcia Rice Fleetwood, was born in the heart of the North American Corn Belt. She raised a son to manhood in a single parent situation, relying on her creativity to get them through tough financial situations. Now that her son is grown, she is an ordained Interfaith Chaplain, and is involved with local theater, and visual arts. Since retirement, Fleetwood has made her home in a rural area of Indiana, just a turn away from her childhood home. During the winter months, I am romanced by the acres of winter white, that stretches, seemingly forever, when Mother Nature leaves her reminder for all of mankind to slow down from his hurried pace. Fleetwood claims her unique writing style is based on the fact that she does not read often, therefore her work is not influenced by the works of other writers.
