About the Book
Beginning in early 2009, Julia Donoho from the American Institute of Architects Redwood Empire and Tanya Narath from the Leadership Institute for Ecology and the Economy joined together to see what they could do together to further the principles of smart growth and urban planning around one of the newly planned stations of the Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transportation system. They selected the North Santa Rosa station as the focus of their efforts, and endeavored to promote a new vision for walkable, livable community, through sponsoring a Community Charrette and an Urban Design Competition. The results of their efforts, and the many community members, designers and stakeholders involved, are documented in this folio.
