From Semaphore to C.T.C.
by A Signalling journey on the Dublin to Rosslare,Dungarvan,Waterford & Limerick lines by D Beglin
A book about the signalboxes and operations on the railway lines of the Iirsh republic south from Dublin to Rosslare port, across to Waterford and Limerick Junction, with a trip along the closed Dungarvan and New Ross branches to boot.
This book is part of a series of books on Irish signalling and operations, this book being the first.
I am a signal engineer on the British mainline network, for my sins I also am a signal engineer on some local heritage railways too,my reasons for doing the books are partly that with my parents living in Ireland I get to travel round by train a lot and see the signalling there and also because as time progresses it becomes rarer and rarer with modernisation,so this is an attempt to capture both the old and the new and try to put into writing and pictures the more interesting or unusual aspects of railway signalling in Eire.
