About the Book
Photos, essays, poems, clippings; there are over six albums and hundreds of slides from Ruth’s lifetime... from her childhood on the Walden farm in Greenville, Maine, to her adult years on the Ludwig farm in Chelsea, Maine. She shared her life in Chelsea with her husband Floyd (Wig) and their six children. The following pages offer a glimpse into life on the farm through short narratives from their children: John, Peter, Charles, Susan, Deborah and Schuyler, and some of her grandchildren: Laura, Sarah and Tracy.

Tracy Sommers returned to her home state of Maine after living and working as a graphic designer in Los Angeles for 10 years. She is an Art School graduate from University of Maine and now resides on Great Diamond Island in Casco Bay with her husband, 9-year-old son, and seafaring labrador. Tracy is inspired by the unique stories that come from living “on-island” off the coast of Maine and she has put pen and paint to paper to tell these tales of island life.
