Yunomi(U-Know-Me):
A tea bowl, being taller than wide, with a trimmed or turned foot, without a handle. Unlike the more formal chawan tea bowl, which is used during the Japanese tea ceremony, the Yunomi tea bowl is made for daily (or informal) tea drinking.

Yunomi, a simple form for a simple function; an intimate and immediate object. A well crafted Yunomi exudes artistic individuality and most importantly feels good in the hands. Challenging, but when done well this clay vessel transforms into a beautiful object that is admired and used every day. This is why we all eagerly await the Annual Yunomi Invitational.

This book features one Yunomi each of the 182 participating artists for AKAR's 2012 Yunomi Invitational. The book's introduction gives an insight to the behind the scenes process in putting together a show like this.
