About the Book
During the winter of 2004, Julie visited New Orleans. Being transported from the bitter wind and cold of a fierce Wyoming winter and placed in the sultry, colorful, warmth of New Orleans was an extraordinary experience. She recorded the life and details of the city with her film camera. Less than a year after her visit, Katrina hit and the ensuing flood changed the the face of New Orleans forever. In 2012, Julie pulled out the negatives she'd shot on the trip and scanned them into digital format. From there, she simplified the compositions and infused the images with the vibrance of her memories. This collection is the result.
