Hélène Mogensen de Monléon is French-Italian and lives currently in Denmark.
She attended Art Schools in Rome and Lyon, where she began her artistic career by painting. Later on she discovered that the camera lens was the most genuine way to express her feelings, an aesthetic sensibility, and tell stories.
"My approach to photography is both emotional and aesthetic.
I’m chasing the soul behind the mundane, the “little thing” which makes a moment unique. My intent is to discover the feelings and stories beneath the surface and share with the viewer the essence of what I found behind the image.
On the aesthetic level I look for the “unexpected elegance”. Through the lens, I like to observe the strong graphism of an industrial workplace or a pattern made by nature and find the right composition to reveal the hidden beauty.
I like to play with light and colours, sometimes over the edges, bending conventional rules"
