About the Book
People often ask me what it was like living in South Korea. I never know what to tell them. There is no way to summarize with any accuracy what an experience like this is like.
Perhaps I may say that it was like a dream from which I am now waking. A dream that, nonetheless, affected me profoundly, and which not even I can fully comprehend. Presented here is a collection of anecdotes, poems, verbal scribbles, and photographs from those thirteen months. If the images or words seem to contradict themselves and you can make no sense of it, do not be worried. You are just beginning to truly understand.
