Gabriel McIntosh is a collector of images, ideas, media, and words, and is medium agnostic. A fury of work comes from his art practice which is mostly stream of conscious, diaristic, and often raw. He mostly works in photography because of the camera's immediacy and ability to present reality and twist perception.
Gabriel had his first exhibition after participating in Focus: HOPE’s Focus on the Mission photography project, showing work in Detroit in 1995. Almost a decade later he participated in two gallery exhibitions at MG Gallery and a solo show at a2c gallery, all in Chicago. His photographs of Chicago’s Grant Park have been given as gifts to foreign dignitaries and guests of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. His photography has appeared on musician Dick Prall’s LP fizzlebuzzie (White Rose Recordings, 2006). His work can also found in the SAIC Joan Flacsh Artists' Book Collection.
