Sophia Dixon Dillo is an installation and mixed media artist who explores light as an active medium through the use of transparent, translucent, and reflective materials. Her minimal non-objective works often play on the cusp between 2D and 3D, combining layers into unexpected plays of light and pattern. Quiet and subtle, the works shift and change as the viewer moves. Though much of Dillo's work is site-specific and temporary, her involvement with a piece does not end at de-installation. She continue to explore her materials through re-transformation into a variety of forms. Dillo enjoys exploring light and her materials within the photographic framework.
