About the Book
A ride on the steel rails that stretch straight down the middle of Kentucky. This book of poetry and verse was inspired by my love/hate relationship with my career as a locomotive engineer slash, union activist.
For 16 years - I drove freight trains from Louisville to Nashville. Yep, I was a Locomotive Engineer. Before that life, I worked mostly in the restaurant industry - while also working as a community artist and musician. My recent writing reflects a life change that has found me transitioning from a career in the transportation industry, back to a life of art, music, poetry and community organizing. I started writing, performing poetry and original music in the late 1980's. I grew up in Louisville, KY and make Middletown, KY my home with my son and wife of 21 years. I have recorded 3 CD's of studio quality music ... documenting my work on the rails and as a labor organizer. You can find all my work over at my website. www.railroadmusic.org
