About the Creator
The Reverend Carlton L. Shuford is a life long Georgian, born in 1948, in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia and received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture in 1973. While working in his profession, he did independent study and was ordained an Episcopal Deacon in 1990 in the Diocese of Georgia and served several parishes and in a number of ministries to youth and to those in prisons. Receiving a Masters of Divinity from Erskine Theological Institute in 2008, he was ordained to the priesthood in April of that year. These poems are the product of meditation and prayer over a number of years. They have sprung from experiences of ministry, the community of fellow Christians who have shared their spiritual journeys with him, and blessings of the created world which God has given us to enjoy and to nurture.
