Indie Publishing Sales and Distribution

Once you’ve created your book, get it into readers’ hands with the distribution option that’s right for you.

It's time to sell your book.

You’ve already done the hard part. You’ve poured your ideas out of your head and onto the page. You’ve picked the perfect title, designed an eye-catching cover, and made your book the best it can be. Now you’re ready to get your book out into the world.

Blurb offers book distribution options for self-publishers of all kinds. Whether you’re reaching out to a niche community or seeking the widest possible readership, we have selling options that are perfect for you.

Keep it simple: Blurb Direct Sell

Blurb Direct Sell allows you to sell any book made with Blurb directly to your fans and friends through your own personal storefront. You choose the markup over the base price of your book. You keep 100% of the profit.

Simplicity: Blurb handles the entire transaction flow, prints and ships your books, tracks your sales, and sends you payments via PayPal. It doesn’t get much easier than that.

Personal Storefront: Share a link to your book’s page in the Blurb Bookstore or use our interactive book preview widget to sell directly to your audience through your own website, blog, or Facebook page.

Expand your audience: Blurb to Amazon

Blurb to Amazon helps you take advantage of Amazon.com’s reach, recognition, and search rankings to find the widest audience for your photo paper book. Setup through Blurb is free. You choose the list price for your book and keep all profits over the manufacturing base price and Amazon’s cut.

All genres welcome: Amazon distribution is available for any photo paper book you create using any of Blurb's book-making tools, even books you’ve published with us previously. Bespoke books and trade books in the Amazon Fulfillment Program are also welcome.

Painless management: Use your existing Blurb account. You set the list price and provide a book description. We'll take care of the setup, print your books, and fulfill the orders.

Reach bookstores worldwide: Global Retail Network

Blurb’s Global Retail Network is specifically for trade books. Enrolled books are listed in the Ingram catalog and made available to leading online retailers, plus thousands of local bookstores around the world. You set a list price and determine the wholesale discount.

For trade books: All trade books (such as novels, how-to guides, or children’s books) made with BookWright or our plug-in for Adobe® InDesign® are eligible. Choose from three industry-standard sizes, standard or economy printing, and full-color or black-and-white pages on text-weight paper.

Your book, everywhere: Ingram’s book catalog is used by Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Waterstones, and thousands of other retailers. Even “brick and mortar” bookstores can order your book.

You set the discount: Offer your book to retailers at any of three discount levels. A higher discount makes your book most attractive to stores; a lower one raises your profit per sale.

Ebook options for iPad or Kindle

When you use Blurb BookWright to create your book, you’re building your print and ebook versions at the same time. The kind of ebook you create determines where you can sell it. Learn more about ebooks.

Fixed-layout ebook for Apple iBooks: Preserve the design of your pages with a beautiful fixed-layout ebook. Publish directly from BookWright or use our online editor for books published with Blurb’s other tools. We’ll even help you submit it to Apple’s iBooks store.

Reflowable ebook for Kindle: Amazon’s Kindle uses its own unique format, but BookWright has you covered. Export a KF8 file from BookWright and we'll send you a file you can upload and sell on Amazon.com through Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP).
