I am primarily self-taught in the wonderful world of illustration. Using water-colours with mixed media as well as oils to create a soft and whimsical style. I enjoy adding fun and creative details to my illustrations. Graduating from Vancouver Film School in 1999, I put my creative energy to good use for ten years as a compositor for film and Television. Working in the visual effects industry helped me develop an eye for composition, light and colour. I have been nominated for two Leo's, a Gemini, a VES and an Emmy award for my work, but my dream has always been to illustrate children’s books. In 2009 I jumped down the rabbit hole, dedicated to illustrating with surprising, engaging and creative imagery to inspire young minds. |
