Best known as a singer/songwriter, pianist, international recording & concert artist, Doug Duffey is also a serious multi genre visual artist. As with music, he began creating art at a very early age. He has drawn & painted since childhood; began making collage & photographs in the 1960s. Preferring vintage film & Polaroid cameras to digital, he often utilizes both in his work.
Heavily influenced by German Expressionism & Dada his 'analog' mediums include collage, drawing, painting, photography, mixed media, & etching. Digital mediums: digital drawings, digital collage [photo montage/combine] scans, photo & video.
His artwork has been exhibited, in solo &/or group shows, in galleries & museums internationally. He is a member of the 10/20/40 Art Group [Lynda Benglis, Doyle Jeter, Sarah Davidson, Doug Duffey]
He was inducted into the Louisiana Hall of Fame in 2001 & the National Blues Hall of Fame in 2009. He has resided & worked between Louisiana & Europe for the past 22 years.
