About

I was born in Istanbul, Turkey (1955), and live and work near Zurich,Switzerland.

Working mainly on personal projects, I published my first book “Industrial Interiors“ in the year 1998. After visiting Shanghai for commissioned work, my travels brought me often back to China. As a result I published the book “Shanghai“ (2000). My most recent project is City of Ambition with cityscapes from the megalopolis Chongqing, China – a four year project.

My work has been shown by galleries and museums in Europe, America and Asia, among them Shanghai Art Museum, Fotomuseum Winterthur, Switzerland, Walter Storms Galerie, Munich, Germany, Photofusion Gallery, London, Stephen Cohen Gallery, Los Angeles, Blue Sky Gallery, Portland OR, Photoforum Pasquart, Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, Elipsis Gallery, Istanbul, and Fotofestiwal Lodz, Poland.

1999 I received the Kodak Photobook-Award for the book Industrial Interiors and 2002 I was awarded the Hasselblad Masters.
