Enchanted Light, Galapagos Islands and Ecuador
by Dennis Minty
About the Book
This work is based on a ten day expedition to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands in October 2010 with Adventure Canada, a travel company in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I work as a photographer and eco-tour guide with Adventure Canada and have traveled extensively with them throughout the world. Our platform and home for the journey was the beautifully equipped National Geographic Islander, a 48 passenger catamaran. This was my first trip to this inspiring part of the world. I hope it won't be my last.
Since age 12, photography has been Dennis's passion, but for more than a decade, it has also been his living. He strives to make his work quiet, contemplative, evocative and filled with light. Always he seeks to inspire in the viewer a deeper connection with the natural world. Dennis believes that photography can be a powerful way to communicate through the eye to the heart and bring new awareness and respect for our amazing world. Dennis established and managed Salmonier Nature Park, a nature education and wildlife rehabilitation centre in Newfoundland, Canada. As a instructor and tour leader, heand his wife, Antje Springmann, offer photo workshops and natural history tours through The Human Nature Company. As well Dennis is a regular tour leader with Adventure Canada. He has authored or co-authored seven books. Antje and Dennis live in Clarke's Beach, Newfoundland, Canada with two very large dogs, a cat and 9 chickens.
