Reykjavík, Iceland's capital, is among the most colourful in the world. It is hard to imagine authorities in Reykjavík contemplated the idea of taking down the multi-coloured houses of corrugated iron, to have them replaced by modern blocks of concrete and glass, but they did!
Thank Thor, only because artists, intellectuals and the like protested and started buying these houses, has this idea been abandoned! The early light of spring makes the buildings come alive. And the trees that start sprouting their delicate and tender leaves.
