This is a photographic essay of our overland journey through Africa. After hundreds of thousands of bugs, 23,000 km, 5,400 pictures, 104 days, 10 countries, and 2 cases of cutaneous larva migrans, we all made it out of Africa. Between the four of us, we had malaria, dysentery, ticks, parasitic worms, heat exhaustion and two nasty spider bites. Surprisingly, there was not a single case of food poisoning. Despite all of this, we would do it all again and are already planning our next trips.
